MARNI WALKER

Marni Walker is a CPA and partner at Stees, Walker & Company LLP. Marni has more than 17 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting for individuals, small businesses, estates and trusts. Her specialty is helping clients with individual, business and estate tax planning.

She spent a decade with San Diego-based Cobb, Stees & Company, LLP, before it merged with Kellogg & Andelson in November 2011. Prior to working in a CPA office, Marni spent five years in the banking industry.

Marni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2007 and is licensed to practice in California. Marni is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Marni lives in Carlsbad, Calif., with her husband and two boys, and enjoys playing and watching all sporting events – especially baseball, softball, football and soccer.

Laura A. Stees is a CPA, partner and business strategist with Stees, Walker & Company LLP. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Her specialty is helping business owners gain control and direction for their organizations, while improving their profit potential and business growth. A passionate real estate investor, her personal and professional expertise in the real estate investment arena is a perfect match for her clients who are focused on charting their course for financial success through real estate investing.

John G. Boeckman, CPA

John became a Shareholder and Director of the firm in 1999 and oversees the firm’s tax and consulting services. John focuses his efforts in such areas as corporate taxation, retirement planning, business valuation, estate tax issues, not-for-profit organizations and individual tax matters. He was elected Managing Director in 2012. In addition, John has had extensive experience with various business startups, assisting in such areas as software selection and training while providing ongoing business and tax consulting services. He is a member of the AICPA and OSCPA.

Larry E. Elsner, CPA

Larry became a Shareholder and Director of the firm in 1988 and oversees the firm’s accounting and auditing services. Larry has experience providing auditing, accounting and tax services to clients in a broad range of industries including manufacturing, construction, retail, and not-for-profit organizations. Larry is a member of the AICPA and OSCPA.

Thomas P. Burns, CPA

Tom joined the firm in 1989 and became a Shareholder and Director in 1999. His efforts are concentrated in the federal, state and local tax areas in addition to providing accounting, tax and computer consulting to a variety of small business and individual clients. He has experience dealing with clients in a wide range of industries, including hospitality, manufacturing, construction, health care, transportation, agriculture, wholesale, retail, and not-for-profit organizations. Tom is a member of the AICPA and OSCPA.

Julie K. Dagani, CPA

Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University with a degree in business administration, majoring in accounting. She joined the firm in July, 1994 after having spent five years in the audit division of an international accounting firm. Julie has experience providing auditing, accounting and tax services to clients in a broad range of industries including manufacturing, banking, trucking, construction, and employee benefit plans. She is a member of AICPA and the OSCPA.

Corey A. Kremer, CPA

Corey joined Monnier & Co. in August 2009. He graduated from Wright State University in 2003 with a degree in business administration, majoring in accounting. Corey received his Masters’ degree in accounting from Wright State in 2005 and his Certified Public Accounting license in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, he spent 6 years in public accounting. He is a member of the AICPA and the OSCPA.

Beth A. Broering

Beth joined Monnier & Co. in July 2000. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in May 2000. Prior to joining the firm she had 4 years in retail establishment.

Brent A. Burns

Brent joined Monnier & Co. in March 2013. He graduated from Wright State University with a dual major in accounting and finance in December 2012.

Scott Cates

Scott joined Monnier & Co. in August 2014. He graduated from Wright State University with a dual major in accounting and finance in June 2012.

Deborah Maurer, CPA

Deborah joined Monnier & Co. in March 2015. She graduated Cum Laude from Miami University with a bachelors in 1999. She received her Certified Public Accounting in 2000 and is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, AICPA and OSCPA. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 16 years in public accounting.

Laura J. Honigford

Laura joined Monnier & Co. in June, 2015. She graduated with an Associate’s degree in Financial Management from James A. Rhodes College in 1985, a Bachelor of Arts in organizational management from Bluffton University in December 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Bluffton University in May, 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 27 years in public accounting.

Barbara S. Zumberger

Barb joined the firm in 1984. She prepares payroll reports, W-2’s, online tax deposits, sales tax and CAT tax returns. She is responsible for electronic filing of individual tax returns and also assists with financial reporting and the keying and processing of other tax returns along with staff assistance.

Julia A. Frazier

Julia joined Monnier & Co. in June 1995. She received her Associate’s degree in 2005. She has certain office management responsibilities. She is responsible for maintaining the firm records, including billing, time keeping and payroll. She also assists clients with their bookkeeping, bill payments and prepares 1099.

Angela K. Freeman

Angela joined Monnier & Co. in July 2016. She is responsible for word processing, data generation and control. She produces financial reports, forms and correspondence. She also processes all tax forms and reports. She maintains extensive files and handles telephone and fax communications. Prior to joining the firm she had 3 years in banking.

Ann M. Langenkamp

Ann joined Monnier & Co. in October 2016. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Findlay in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science majoring in accounting and finance. Prior to joining the firm she has had experience in international accounting. She is a member of IMA and Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society.

Ryan M. Smith

Ryan joined Monnier & Co. in June 2017. He graduated from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business with major concentrations in accountancy and finance. Prior to joining the firm, he spent two years in an internal audit function within a higher educational institution.
